List of Skyworth Refrigerator Problems, Possible Cause, and Solution.

Here are the list of a common problem, possible cause and solution one can encounter with there Refrigerators. Please refer to table below;

• Refrigerator is not working.
• Food is freezing in the refrigerator compartment.
• The defrost water streamed onto the floor.

• Ratting Noise.
• Doors will not close correctly or pop open.
• Doors are difficult to open.

• Frost or ice crystals form on frozen food (outside of package).
• Frost or ice crystals form on frozen food (inside of sealed package).
• Refrigerator or Freezer section is too warm.

Problem:

Refrigerator is not working

Possible Causes:

Check whether the power supply is reliable.

Check that the plug has been wired up properly.

Check whether the refrigerator control is set to OFF.

Solution:

Ensure the power supply is intact.

Ensure power circuit and plug in good condition.

Turn the control ON.

Problem:

Food is freezing in the refrigerator compartment

Possible Cause:

Refrigerator temperature control is set incorrectly.

Food with high water content was placed near an cabinet.

Solution:

If the temperature is too cold in the refrigerator compartment, turn down the thermostat a little and wait for the temperature to stabilize.

Rearrange item with high water content away from cabinet.

Problem:

The defrost water streamed onto the floor.

Possible Cause:

Check whether the drain hole has been blocked.

Check whether the drain tray has been placed in the right position.

Solution:

Put the drain tray on the right position.

Problem:

Noisy Running

Possible Cause:

The refrigerator has not been properly leveled.

The refrigerator contact with the wall.

The accessories in the refrigerator are placed wrong position.

Solution:

Floor is weak or uneven or leveling legs need to be adjusted.

Measuring the clearance and ensure the refrigerator at least 2 inches (5.08cm) between the back of the refrigerator and the wall.

To fix and place the accessory on the right position.

Problem:

Ratting noise.

Possible Cause:

Ratting noise may come from the flow of refrigerant.

Solution:

Recharge ref Freon if the cause is the refrigerant.

Problem:

Doors will not close correctly or pop open.

Possible Cause:

Food packages are blocking the door open.

Crisper, crisper cover, shelves, or bottle rack are out of position.

Refrigerator is not leveled properly.

solution:

Rearrange food containers to clear the door and door shelves.

Put crisper, crisper cover, shelves and bottle rack into their correct position.

Ensure the refrigerator on the level.

Problem:

Doors are difficult to open.

Possible Cause:

The door gaskets are dirty or sticky.

Door was recently closed.

Solution:

Clean the door gaskets and the surfaces that they touch. Rub a thin coat of appliance polish or kitchen wax on the gaskets after clearing.

When you open the door, warmer air enters the refrigerator. As the warm air cools, it can create a vacuum. If the door is hard to open, wait one minute to allow the air pressure to equalize, and then see if it opens more easily.

Problem:

Lights do not work.

Possible Cause:

LED interior lighting failure.

Solution:

The refrigerator compartment lamp is LED interior lighting, and the repair should be performed by a qualified technician.

Problem:

Frost or ice crystals form on frozen food (outside of package).

Possible Cause:

Door is opened frequently or for long periods of time.

Solution:

When the doors are opened often or for long periods of time, warm, humid air enters the compartment. This raises the temperature and moisture level within the compartment. Increased moisture will lead to frost and condensation. To lessen the effect, reduce the door is opened frequently or for long periods of time.

Problem:

Frost or ice crystals form on frozen food (inside of sealed package).

Possible Cause:

Condensation from food with high water content has frozen inside of the food package.

Food has been left in the freezer for long periods of time.

Solution:

This is normal for food items with high water content.

Do not store food items with high water content in the freezer for a long period of time.

Problem:

Refrigerator or Freezer section is too warm.

Possible Cause:

Refrigerator was recently installed.

A large amount of food or hot food was added to either compartment.

Thermostat is not set correctly.

Solution:

It may take up to 24 hours for each compartment to reach the desired temperature.

Adding food warms the compartment requiring the cooling system to run. Allowing hot food to cool to room temperature before putting it in the refrigerator will reduce this effect.

If the temperature is too warm, adjust the thermostat increment at a time and wait for the temperature to stabilize.
