Software Update for Random Color Discoloration G3BN, G22, G22U, and G3A Series

This is regarding to the abnormal color of the screen caused by the software bug "MP05 SA R5.1", and is currently affects units from the Philippines. Affected units list are;

  • 50G22
  • 55G22
  • 65G22
  • 70G22
  • 75G22

There are two different ways on how to update the TV software, first is an automatic update and  secondly, a manual update. Both is by using USB Flash Disk Drive.

However, the automatic method couldn't upgrade using the same version of the software. While the manual method will able to repeat it's upgrade using the same version of the software.

Step by step guide for Automatic Software Update

  1. Download the Software here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11VqKhkmM65N8lPD56Qe0e8dcGosOTPpA/view?usp=sharing
  2. Prepare USB Flash Drive with FAT32 file system.
  3. Copy the downloaded software update to USB Flash Disk Drive root directory.
  4. Rename the Software Update File to "AutoUpgrade.pkg".
  5. Unplug the TV from the power source.
  6. Insert the USB Flash Disk Drive containing "AutoUpgrade.pkg" Software Update into the TV's USB 2.0 port.
  7. Plug-in back the TV to power source and turn it "ON".
  8. The Software Update process begin automatically, normal TV shows progress bar on screen while affected units can only determine on it's "flashing light indicator".
  9. The software upgrade or update process will took around 3 minutes to complete.
  10. Turn on the TV manually if it doesn't turn on automatically.

Step by step guide for Manual Software Update

  2. Prepare USB Flash Drive with FAT32 file system.
  3. Copy the downloaded software update to USB Flash Disk Drive root directory.
  4. Unplug the TV from the power source.
  5. Insert the USB Flash Disk Drive containing "upgrade_image_no_tvcertificatecusdatatvconfig_user_sa_20230403.pkg" Software Update into the TV's USB 2.0 port.
  6. Press and Hold the power button of the while you someone to plug-in back the TV to power source and turn it "ON". (Hold and Press for at-least 15 seconds)
  7. The Software Update process will begin, in normal TV shows progress bar on screen while affected units can only determine on it's "flashing light indicator".
  8. The software upgrade or update process will took around 3 minutes to complete.
  9. Turn on the TV manually if it doesn't turn on automatically.

Conclusion:
If there is a phenomenon similar to the following picture above ( Figure 1: Display Discoloration ) which display's a random discoloration or an abnormal color of the screen, you can try to upgrade the software first.

How to CONNECT your phone to the TV?

Activate the Skyshare function of your TV. For Smart TVs, Skyshare function can be  found in the home menu. For Android series, Skyshare can be found in in the Settings > Net Settings > ALL Share. On your phone, go to SETTINGS option of your phone. Select DISPLAY and look for WIRELESS DIPLAY function. For other phones, you can access the Wifi settings and look for "Wifi Direct" function.
