Coocaa 55S6G Pro Max Software Update for a Random Discoloration

This is regarding to the abnormal color of the screen or flickering display that is caused by the software bug "MP05 SA R5.1", and is currently affecting units here in the country. Affected units is as follows;

  • 55S6G Pro Max

There are two different ways on how to update the TV software of Coocaa 55S6G Pro Max 4K Google TV, first method is an automatic update and the second method, is a manual update. Yet, both is by using USB Flash Disk Drive.

However, the automatic method couldn't upgrade using the same version of the software. While the manual method will able to repeat it's upgrade using the same version of the software. Below are the tools needed for manual software update.

Tools for Manual Update

  1. USB Flash Drive (FAT32)
  2. Coocaa 55S6G Pro Max Latest Software Update

Step by step guide for Automatic Software Update

  1. Download the Coocaa 55S6G Pro Max  Latest Software Update here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bXBy_VXcvxzXqReidNqDphRuXVQCocEy/view?usp=sharing
  2. Prepare USB Flash Drive with FAT32 file system.
  3. Copy the downloaded software update to USB Flash Disk Drive root directory.
  4. Rename the Software Update File to "AutoUpgrade.pkg". (Original file name is "upgrade_image_no_tvcertificatecusdatatvconfig_user_sa_20230403.pkg")
  5. Unplug the Coocaa 55S6G Pro Max from the power source.
  6. Insert the USB Flash Disk Drive containing "AutoUpgrade.pkg" Software Update into the Coocaa 55S6G Pro Max's USB 2.0 port.
  7. Plug-in back the Coocaa 55S6G Pro Max to power source and turn it "ON".
  8. The Software Update process begin automatically, normal Coocaa 55S6G Pro Max shows progress bar on screen while affected units can only determine on it's "flashing light indicator".
  9. The software upgrade or update process will took around 3 minutes to complete.
  10. Turn on the Coocaa 55S6G Pro Max manually if it doesn't turn on automatically.

Step by step guide for Manual Software Update

  1. Download the Coocaa 55S6G Pro Max Latest Software Update here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bXBy_VXcvxzXqReidNqDphRuXVQCocEy/view?usp=sharing
  2. Prepare USB Flash Drive with FAT32 file system.
  3. Copy the downloaded software update to USB Flash Disk Drive root directory.
  4. Unplug the Coocaa 55S6G Pro Max from the power source.
  5. Insert the USB Flash Disk Drive containing "upgrade_image_no_tvcertificatecusdatatvconfig_user_sa_20230403.pkg" Software Update into the TV's USB 2.0 port.
  6. Press and Hold the power button of the while you someone to plug-in back the Coocaa 55S6G Pro Max to power source and turn it "ON". (Hold and Press for at-least 15 seconds)
  7. The Software Update process will begin, in normal Coocaa 55S6G Pro Max shows progress bar on screen while affected units can only determine on it's "flashing light indicator".
  8. The software upgrade or update process will took around 3 minutes to complete.
  9. Turn on the Coocaa 55S6G Pro Max manually if it doesn't turn on automatically.

Conclusion:
If there is a phenomenon similar to Coocaa 55S6G Pro Max refer to the following picture above ( Figure 1: Display Discoloration ) which display's a random discoloration or an abnormal color of the screen, you can try to upgrade the software first.

How to CONNECT your phone to the TV?

Activate the Skyshare function of your TV. For Smart TVs, Skyshare function can be  found in the home menu. For Android series, Skyshare can be found in in the Settings > Net Settings > ALL Share.
