Skyworth Q6800H Series 4K QLED TV Software and Firmware

How to Fix a Stuck Skyworth Q6800H Series (50Q6800H, 55Q6800H, 60Q6800H, 65Q6800H, 75Q6800H, 85Q6800H) 4K QLED TV: Firmware Recovery Guide

If your Skyworth Q6800H series (50Q6800H, 55Q6800H, 60Q6800H, 65Q6800H, 75Q6800H, 85Q6800H) TV is stuck on the boot logo, looping on a loading bar, playing audio without display, or showing green artifacts on apps like Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube, you do not need to replace the main board immediately. Most of these issues stem from corrupted system partitions or failed over-the-air (OTA) updates.

Flashing the official firmware directly via a USB drive will rewrite the core OS partitions, restore normal boot sequences, and resolve system-level crashes.

⚠️ CRITICAL REGION WARNING

This firmware package (MTKRef_Plus9603_GTV_UR5.2.zip) is strictly intended for TV sets manufactured for and sold in Middle East and Sub-Saharan African markets.

Installing this software on a Skyworth Q6800H variant outside these designated regions will misalign the internal tuner configuration and temporarily disable your TV's over-the-air tuner board. If this occurs, installing the correct region-specific firmware package afterward will restore tuner functionality back to normal.

Prerequisites & Download Links

Before starting, ensure you have:

  1. USB Flash Drive: Minimum 8GB capacity, formatted to FAT32.

  2. Unzip Utility: Program to extract .zip archives on your computer.

  3. Firmware File: Download the matching build for your exact model size below:

The archive contains the primary system image payload (upgrade_image_no_tvcertificate_project_id_persist.pkg) and the configuration profile (upgrade_image_tvconfig.pkg).

Step-by-Step Firmware Flashing Procedure

⚠️ Warning: Follow every instruction carefully. Interrupting the update process (by pulling the plug or removing the USB drive midway) will render the TV bricked and unrecoverable via software.

1. Format the USB Drive

Insert your USB drive into your PC. Right-click the drive, select Format, set the file system to FAT32, and execute a quick format. The bootloader on the MTK9603 board cannot read NTFS or exFAT drives during early boot.

2. Prepare the Files

  1. Extract MTKRef_Plus9603_GTV_UR5.2.zip.

  2. Locate the two extracted files:

    • upgrade_image_no_tvcertificate_project_id_persist.pkg

    • upgrade_image_tvconfig.pkg

  3. Copy both .pkg files directly to the root directory of your USB drive (do not put them inside any subfolders, and do not rename them).

3. Trigger the Force Update

  1. Unplug the TV's power cord from the wall outlet.

  2. Insert the USB drive into the TV's USB 2.0 port (usually the black or white port, avoid the blue USB 3.0 port).

  3. Plug the TV back into the power source.

  4. Do not press any buttons. Leave the TV alone for a few seconds.

  5. The TV will detect the package automatically. Watch for the red standby LED to start flashing, or for the screen to show "LOADING DATA... 1%".

  6. Once the progress bar appears, the bootloader has loaded the flash routine.

4. Wait for Installation & Reset

  • The recovery process takes 10 to 15 minutes. Do not turn off the power or disconnect the USB drive while this process runs.

  • Once completed, the TV will restart automatically and load the initial Google TV setup wizard.

5. Final Factory System Reset

After completing the initial setup wizard, perform a mandatory system reset to purge temporary cache partitions left over from the recovery image:

  1. Press HOME on the remote.

  2. Go to Settings.

  3. Select System > About.

  4. Select Reset and confirm.
