How to Fix and Reflash Skyworth 50-Inch UHD Android TV (50SUD6000, 50SUD6100, 50SUD7100)

⚠️ PHILIPPINES REGION LOCK WARNING: The firmware files below (MstarUpgrade_no_tvcertificatetvconfig_20220507.bin) are configured solely for Skyworth 50-inch Android TV models sold within the Philippines. Attempting to write this package to international variants or unlisted chassis revisions will irreversibly brick the main logic board.

Issues Resolved by This Firmware Build

A clean firmware flash replaces damaged boot blocks and cleans corrupted flash storage partitions across the entire MTK9602 series lineup:

Required Equipment

  • USB Drive: Minimum 8 GB capacity.

  • Format Scheme: Strictly FAT32.

  • Archive Tool: 7-Zip, WinRAR, or standard unzipper to open MTK9602_AndroidTV_Q.zip.

  • Power Connection: Direct, reliable wall outlet. Do not perform during power instability.

Recovery & Reflash Instructions

⚠️ CRITICAL: Read through every step prior to execution. Interrupting the flashing process or placing files in sub-folders will cause permanent hardware failure.

1. Prepare the USB Drive

  1. Insert the USB drive into your computer.

  2. Open File Explorer, right-click the USB drive letter, and click Format.

  3. Set the File System to FAT32 with default allocation units, then execute the format.

The low-level boot code on MTK9602 mainboards cannot identify exFAT or NTFS drive formats during forced boot sweeps.

2. Extract and Transfer Binary Files

  1. Unpack MTK9602_AndroidTV_Q.zip on your computer.

  2. Open the unzipped folder and copy the file named:

    MstarUpgrade_no_tvcertificatetvconfig_20220507.bin

  3. Paste this .bin file directly into the root folder (top level) of your USB drive.

  4. Do not place it inside any folder, and do not alter the filename. The bootloader searches explicitly for this exact string.

  5. Safely remove the flash drive from your PC.

3. Execute Cold Hardware Force Reflash

Since a boot-looped or frozen television blocks access to standard user menus, you must trigger the bootloader via hard key override:

  1. Unplug the TV power cable directly from the wall socket.

  2. Insert your FAT32 USB drive into the TV's USB 2.0 port (typically white or black; avoid using blue USB 3.0 ports for flashing routines).

  3. Press and hold the physical power button located on the TV chassis (underneath the front lower frame or along the back panel).

  4. While holding the power button continuously, plug the power cable back into the wall outlet.

  5. Keep the power button held down for approximately 15 seconds.

  6. Watch the standby LED indicator. As soon as it blinks red, or when the screen displays LOADING DATA... 1%, release the power button immediately.

4. Flash Completion & Factory Calibration

  1. The installation process takes 10 to 15 minutes while storage partitions overwrite.

  2. Do not remove power or pull the USB drive until the routine finishes.

  3. Once completed, the television will restart automatically into the initial Android startup screen.

Mandatory Post-Update Reset

After reaching the desktop interface, execute a clean factory reset to flush residual configuration cache:

  1. Select Settings (Gear icon) on the Home screen.

  2. Navigate to System ➔ About.

  3. Select Reset and confirm Erase Everything.

  4. Allow the system to perform its final initialization before setting up Wi-Fi and user accounts.
