What You Need Before Starting

  • USB Flash Drive: At least 8GB capacity, formatted to FAT32 (the TV bootloader will not read exFAT or NTFS).

  • Extractor Tool: WinRAR, 7-Zip, or standard built-in ZIP extractor.

  • Firmware File: MstarUpgrade_no_tvcertificatetvconfig_20211022.bin (extracted from the downloaded ZIP package).

  • Stable Power Connection: Secure wall outlet connection to prevent power loss during flashing.



Step-by-Step Recovery Procedure

⚠️ CAUTION: Read these steps carefully. Turning off the TV or disconnecting the USB drive mid-process can permanently damage the motherboard.


Step 1: Format the USB Drive

  1. Insert your USB flash drive into your PC.

  2. Open This PC, right-click the drive, and select Format.

  3. Set the File System to FAT32 and click Start.

Step 2: Extract and Copy the Firmware File

  1. Extract the contents of the downloaded firmware .zip file.

  2. Copy MstarUpgrade_no_tvcertificatetvconfig_20211022.bin directly to the root directory of your USB drive (do not place inside any folder, and do not rename it).



Step 3: Trigger Force Update Mode

  1. Unplug the TV's power cord from the wall socket.

  2. Plug the USB drive into the TV’s USB 2.0 port.

  3. Press and hold the physical power button located on the TV panel (not the remote).

  4. While continuing to hold the power button, plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

  5. Hold the power button for ~15 seconds until the status LED flashes red or you see "LOADING DATA... 1%" on screen. 


  6. Release the button once the progress bar shows "UPGRADING SOFTWARE PLEASE DO NOT TURN OFF".



Step 4: Complete Installation & Reset

  1. Allow the progress bar to reach 100% (takes approximately 5 to 15 minutes).

  2. The TV will automatically reboot once completed.

  3. Complete the initial setup screen, then perform a final factory reset to clear leftover system cache:

    • Home ➔ Settings ➔ System ➔ About ➔ Reset
